PgM for OSS Beta 4 released
The fourth beta release of Program Management for Open Source Projects is now available from the The Pragmatic Bookshelf. In this release, I added a chapter on making good decisions.
It can be really easy to fall into one of two extremes: making everything a public referendum on one end and dictating from smoke-filled back rooms on the other. The former increases engagement but takes a lot of work and doesn’t necessarily lead to better outcomes. The latter is quick but robs you of valuable input and can drive contributors away. A good decision-making process strikes a balance between the two.
